This resource contains an introduction to the use of algebraic notation, simplification of expressions (including fractional expressions) and the use and expansion of brackets.

Early exercises are suitable for the beginner. Exercise H on the simplification of fractional algebraic expressions and Exercise I on proving identities are more demanding topics at GCSE.
