An Introduction to Using Statistics Mode on a Calculator – calculator manuals are often too brief and manufacturers sometimes have different methods of entering and manipulating data for calculators in their range. This can make it very confusing when meeting statistics mode for the first time.
Data entry and manipulation instructions are given for finding the mean from a list of quantities and the mean from a frequency table. Three models of calculator (two Casio and one Sharp) are discussed; other models will have slightly different methods of entering and manipulating data.
This resource (on 7 A4 pages) is FREE to download. It contains examples showing the working by hand and some questions to attempt using statistics mode (answers included).
