I ran an electronics club during lunch-times in my last school. The main focus of the activity was to develop the practical skills required in assembling simple circuits on Veroboard rather than gaining a detailed theoretical understanding of how each circuit worked.
When I retired from teaching, I developed some of these circuits into kits which I sell online and at craft fairs in the Merseyside area. Kits on foam board can be made without soldering – connections are made by crimping wires together. Kits on Veroboard (track board) require soldering.
More details about the kits can be found at www.irbyelectronics.co.uk and at www.folksy.com/shops/IrbyElectronics
